51-year-old Krasimir Kirkorov faces a potential prison sentence of 10 to 20 years if convicted of premeditated murder. This was emphasized by prosecutor Nikolay Trendafilov, who noted that the defendant had a prior conviction for causing bodily harm before being later rehabilitated.

The Haskovo District Court has decided to keep Kirkorov in custody under "pre-trial detention." The decision was reached by a judicial panel chaired by Toshka Ivanova, which granted the request made by the Haskovo District Prosecutor's Office. According to the court, there is a genuine risk that the defendant may flee or commit a new crime. The grounds for the measure include the high degree of public danger posed by the act, the evidence gathered in the case, as well as Kirkorov's personal background and prior convictions.

The incident took place on September 14 of this year in a park in Dimitrovgrad. The prosecution claims that the assault on the 38-year-old man occurred in front of witnesses who attempted to stop the attack. Despite this, the defendant continued to strike the victim in the head, even after the victim had fallen to the ground and was in a helpless state.

In court, Krasimir Kirkorov pleaded guilty and stated that he regrets what happened. He explained that he delivered several blows while under the influence of alcohol but did not expect them to lead to the man's death. According to him, he took steps to help after the incident by notifying the police and calling an ambulance.

Defense attorney Todor Marinchev, representing Kirkorov, stated that he will seek to contest the presence of intent regarding the act committed.
