Haskovo mayor Stanislav Dechev wants to add five new staff posts to the municipal company "Sport, Recreation and Tourism." He set out the changes to the company's rules in a report published on the Haskovo municipal council's website.

The company is taking over the new municipal outdoor sports complex "Panorama," which needs the extra staff. The number of permanent posts will rise from 41 to 46: two cleaners, two workers to maintain the sports facilities, and one for landscaping.

"Panorama" sits next to the municipal swimming pool. Work on the site began in October 2024, paid for with 1,942,500 levs from the ministry of regional development and public works. Builders have been renovating the old building on the site since mid-July this year to turn it into a multi-purpose hall for combat sports.

Under the changes, "Panorama" will be added to the company's list of sports facilities, and its director will have to draw up rules for how it can be used. Dechev also wants a property in Hisarya taken off the list, since the municipality has already sold it.

Running the new complex will cost extra money from the municipal budget, Dechev says in the report. Usage fees will cover part of it, with the rest coming from the municipality's other income.
