DPS leader Delyan Peevski has approved of Iliana Yotova calling a meeting of the Consultative Council on National Security (KSNS), he told reporters in the parliament lobby. He said this does not mean he backs her.

Peevski said he is impressed by Yotova and very pleased. He said Rumen Radev had banned the council, but Yotova decided to call it and did. He called her step right and added: "In the first round we will back no one, then we will think, but it is a right step."

Peevski accused ministers Ivan Demerdzhiev and Ivan Shishkov and deputy prime minister Galab Donev of hiding the guardrail issue to cover their own "shady deals". He said these deals are going on now at the regional development and public works ministry and at Avtomagistrali. He said guardrails without certificates were being awarded in unclear ways.

He said the issue is awkward for the ruling parties because "Progressive Bulgaria" is deeply involved. He said top-level advisers who hold senior posts in the Council of Ministers were involved too.

DPS has teams watching every ministry, and Peevski said things there are "monstrous". "The only thing those in power are busy with now is filling their pockets," he said.
