Bulgaria's labour and social policy ministry is taking nominations until 12 November for its annual awards for socially responsible strategic management.
There are three categories: "Society", "Environment" and "Human Resources". Businesses, public bodies and non-governmental groups can enter. They must present projects and good practice in social responsibility and responsible management. The rules for applying are on the ministry's website.
Besides the main awards, the jury will give special prizes to companies with achievements in responsible business conduct, whatever the amount they spent.
The ministry says the contest aims to encourage two groups: organisations that put a lot of resources into socially responsible projects, and those that get good results with less money through consistency, commitment and a new approach.
The awards are given every year. The ministry says they have become a respected initiative for responsible management and development. The contest gives organisations a chance to show their achievements, share successful models and win recognition for their contribution to society, the environment and people.
Last year, prizes went to companies and public administrations that work in partnership with the non-governmental sector. The ministry says the winners create an environment that changes the lives of people, employees, local communities and society as a whole for the better.
