Minister of Justice Nikolay Naydenov revealed during parliamentary oversight that the Inspectorate within his ministry is investigating 12 notaries regarding transactions in the "Baba Alino" area. To date, three of these investigations have concluded with a proposal to initiate disciplinary proceedings, while such processes are already underway against two other individuals. Naydenov emphasized that these three cases are the most extensive, whereas for the remaining notaries, only one or two transactions are being reviewed. The final judgment on these matters will rest with the disciplinary commission of the Notary Chamber.

The investigations are not limited to notaries alone – the minister noted that violations have also been identified on the part of registration judges, against whom investigations are also being conducted. In parallel, the prosecution is launching large-scale actions regarding the case. As of September 17, six indictments related to illegal construction in the "Baba Alino" area have been registered at the Varna District Prosecutor's Office. The primary pre-trial proceedings based on this data concern potential official crimes, while information regarding alleged money laundering is being analyzed separately.

The specific legal landscape is further complicated by nine pre-trial proceedings at the Varna Regional Prosecutor's Office, which cover various aspects of the case: document crimes, false declarations, illegal logging, alleged fraud, and other offenses. Within one of these investigations, which has already concluded, an indictment was filed in court on July 20, 2026, against one individual accused of obstructing state and municipal officials from conducting an inspection. Another proceeding is directed against two people accused of issuing certificates of tolerance based on false circumstances.
