Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria and Eneri have signed a long-term deal for the direct supply of renewable electricity, Eneri said. Eneri is an independent power producer in Central and Eastern Europe. Each year it will supply the soft drinks maker with green electricity made in Bulgaria.

The power will come from the Knizhovnik hybrid plant near Haskovo. It has a 122 MWp solar park and two battery storage systems, with capacities of 70 MWh and 130 MWh.

The plant produces about 200 GWh of renewable power a year, enough for almost 50,000 households. For the Knizhovnik project, this is the second power purchase agreement with a corporate client.

According to the statement, Coca-Cola HBC has pledged to reach net zero emissions by 2040.
