Families with no income who heat their homes with solid fuel will receive the entire heating allowance in a single payment — 321.95 euros for the upcoming winter season.

The government expects at least 20,000 people and families with no income at all to receive the full amount at once. This will let them cover their heating costs in one go, reducing the risk that they fall into energy poverty.

The Social Assistance Agency will determine exactly who receives the lump sum, and no additional paperwork will be required from applicants. Families who have already been paid the November and December installments under the current rules will automatically have the January, February and March amounts added on top.

All other eligible families will receive the payments in two installments. The first covers November and December 2026, while the second covers January, February and March 2027.

In addition, around 550,000 vulnerable citizens will receive 50 euros each because of high fuel prices.
