Ivelin Zanev, executive director of the Bulgarian agency that surveys and maintains the Danube, told BTA that the river at Ruse stood at minus 131 cm against the zero gauge mark today. It will fall by another 5 cm over the next two days.
Zanev said low water is still making conditions difficult on the Bulgarian stretch of the river. Limits on how deep ships can sit in the water apply along its whole length.
No ships are stuck, either in the shipping channel or outside it.
