Firms that run thrill rides and similar high-risk attractions must now register before they can operate, and will pay a fee to be listed. The government has changed the rules for the National Tourism Register and the fee schedule under the Tourism Act, the Council of Ministers press office said.
The changes put into effect the law's requirement for mandatory registration. In late January, parliament passed the Act on General Safety Requirements for Providing Attraction Services That Pose a Higher Risk. It approved the bill at first and second reading in a single sitting. The Council of Ministers had submitted it.
Anyone who plans to offer such services must file a notice on a set form with the tourism minister before starting work. Providers are entered in a public register, which the Ministry of Tourism keeps as part of the National Tourism Register.
The additions to the rules set out how the register is kept and used. They cover first-time entry, changes to the details on record, and removal from the register.
The fee schedule sets one fee for a provider's first entry and another for recording changes for a provider that is already registered. The cabinet's announcement does not say how much the fees are.
