Raffaele Fitto, executive vice-president of the European Commission, met a delegation from the DPS party in Brussels. They discussed the future of cohesion policy, the party's press office said.
The talks covered the reforms needed, the new approach, the new structure and the new goals of the policy. They also discussed whether DPS experts, local authorities, the Tolerance association and the teams working on modern cohesion policy at the European Council could work more closely together.
Iskra Mihaylova, deputy chair of the DPS and of its parliamentary group, said she fully backs the European Commission's "Right to Stay" initiative. More meetings and work with local authorities are planned on it.
The day before, the delegation also met Patryk Jaki, co-chair of the European Conservatives and Reformists group in the European Parliament. They discussed the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework.
