Democratic Bulgaria will report properties linked to former acting chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov and his family to the National Revenue Agency. Bozhidar Bozhanov, an MP for the party and co-chair of Yes, Bulgaria, told reporters at parliament.

The party wants the tax agency to find out where the money for these properties came from. The report claims Sarafov's relatives were given fictitious jobs with high salaries at companies. The pre-trial probe into the matter was dropped.

Bozhanov said the properties came to light through reports by investigative journalists, and his report lays out the details in full. He said the tax agency needs to look into the case so any abuse of judicial power can be checked and stopped.

Ivaylo Mirchev, an MP from the same party, said they have filed changes to the law on wine and spirits. He said the finance minister wants to stop people giving rakia to each other as gifts, while Democratic Bulgaria's proposals would allow small-scale production and sale and bring in a certificate of origin.

Asked about the murder of Plovdiv businessman Iliyan Filipov, Mirchev said the signs point one way, "since there was a conflict between the owner of PIMK and Mr. Petleshkov," adding that this theory needs careful analysis.

He said everything also points to possible drug trafficking, along with related activity by people in the shadow economy.
