Prosecutors in Haskovo have charged a 32-year-old woman and her 14-year-old son with the murder of a 67-year-old man in Dimitrovgrad.
This report follows our earlier story about a body found in the boot of a crashed car in Dimitrovgrad and two people detained over the case.
The prosecutor in charge of the case ordered both held, the woman for up to 72 hours and the boy for up to 48 hours. Prosecutors will ask the court to keep them in custody.
According to the charges, the boy stabbed the man in the chest, near the heart, and the man died of the wound. The woman is charged as an instigator and accomplice, acting together with her son. Prosecutors say she persuaded him to kill the man.
The killing took place on 12 October. The body was found overnight into 13 October in the boot of a car after a crash in the Mariyno district of Dimitrovgrad. The woman and her son were detained after the body was found.
The order naming the boy as a defendant states that he has turned 14, was able to understand the nature and significance of what he did, and could control his actions, prosecutors said.
