Taxi fares in Svilengrad will stay the same next year, the town council decided today at its regular meeting. The cap of 50 taxis will not change either. Councillors backed a proposal from mayor Anastas Karchev, set out in his report to the council.
By day, a kilometre costs between €0.77 and €1.02. The night rate is between €0.92 and €1.18.
The previous development: Svilengrad may keep taxi fares and numbers unchanged next year
One operator can have no more than 10 of the yellow cars that work as taxis. Taxi permits are valid for one year.
Councillors also voted to award the "Kostadin Manov" brass band at the "Prosveta 1870" chitalishte (community cultural centre) the "Honorary Badge of Svilengrad Municipality" for its 70th anniversary.
The council also passed rules on how people are placed in the town's social housing. The homes were built under the project "Investments for Integrated Urban Development, Social Inclusion and Educational Integration, Innovation and Green Infrastructure".
Councillors heard interim reports for the third quarter of the year from the Svilengrad multi-profile hospital for active treatment and from Medical Centre 1. They also approved several changes to this year's budget, along with various decisions on the disposal of municipal property.
The agenda first had 16 items. At the start of the meeting, 8 new ones were added, and one of them was later withdrawn.
