Svilengrad mayor Anastas Karchev wants taxi fares and the number of taxis to stay the same next year. He put the proposal to the municipal council in a report.
Councillors are discussing it today at their 55th regular meeting. The draft agenda has 16 items.
Under the report, the daytime fare is €0.77 to €1.02 a kilometre and the night fare is €0.92 to €1.18. The municipality can have no more than 50 taxis. There are now 44.
The council will also vote on whether to give the "Kostadin Manov" brass band at the "Prosveta 1870" chitalishte (community cultural centre) the "Honorary Badge of Svilengrad Municipality". The band is marking its 70th anniversary.
Councillors will also discuss rules on who can move into the municipality's social housing and on what terms. The flats were built under a project. They will also look at changes to this year's budget and the handling of municipal property.
All the reports are on the municipality's official website.
