Defence minister Dimitar Stoyanov spoke by phone with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, about defence ties between the two countries and how to build on them, the defence ministry said.
Stoyanov said the two countries could also work together on military education, military medicine and cyber defence, beyond defence-industry cooperation. Both ministers backed specific defence projects of mutual interest.
Defence also came up at a meeting in Riyadh in late 2025, when then-president Rumen Radev met Saudi crown prince and prime minister Mohammed bin Salman.
