The Inter Drone Expo 2026 in Sofia is organised by the Bulgarian Aviation Industry Association (BAIA), the Council of Ministers press office says. Prime minister Rumen Radev is the event's patron and will open it at noon in hall 5 of the Inter Expo Center in Sofia.
Alongside the expo, BAIA is also running a two-day forum called Sofia Sky Summit: Drones, Defense & the Future of Air Mobility, held today and tomorrow in the complex's seminar hall. The programme includes panels on certification, security, defence and advanced air mobility.
Drone makers, tech firms, state bodies, research groups and partners from several countries will attend the expo. Organisers say the prime minister's patronage shows how much importance Bulgaria places on drone technology and advanced air mobility.
BAIA has 57 member organisations from the industry — drone makers, tech companies, airports, municipalities, universities, research institutes and training providers. The association is the main body representing Bulgaria's aviation industry.
