The defence ministry says Bulgaria will host an international flight exercise called ETAP-C 26-3 from September 28 to October 8. The Bulgarian air force is running the drill, and flights will take off from Plovdiv airport.
The exercise is officially named the "European Tactical Airlift Programme Course 2026-3." Air forces from allied countries will take part, along with the European Air Transport Fleet and the European Air Transport Command.
Crews will fly in parts of Bulgaria's airspace set aside for the exercise. These cover the areas around Plovdiv airport, Bezmer air base and Dolna Mitropolia air base, as well as parts of central and southern Bulgaria.
From September 16 to 18, air force crews carried out live-fire flights against airborne targets at the Shabla firing range.
