Pay for young doctors will rise in the 2027 budget, Prime Minister Rumen Radev said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting. He said the government wants young doctors to advance faster in their careers.
Radev praised staff at the Health Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the prosecutor's office and the State Agency for National Security (DANS) for the operation in Plovdiv. Officers found abuse involving clinical pathways, clinical trials, costly drugs and sick leave.
The prime minister said big abuses and the draining of money from the National Health Insurance Fund have been talked about for a long time. He said the government's job is to uncover and prevent them, and checks across Bulgaria will continue.
The public procurement law is ready and will curb the draining of the Health Fund, Radev added.
