Stanislav Popdonchev will represent employers on the management board of the Silver Fund in 2027. The government chose him to replace Todor Tabakov, the Council of Ministers' press office said.
Popdonchev is a deputy chair of the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA). The cabinet's statement says he meets the legal requirements for education, professional experience and compatibility. The change follows a rotation rule, under which the nationally representative employer organisations nominate a board member.
The board has eight members and is led by the finance minister. The labour and social policy minister is his deputy.
The fund dates back to the transitional and final provisions of the 2006 budget law. At the end of 2008, parliament passed a separate law on the fund and made the finance minister responsible for running it, the Finance Ministry's website shows.
