Svilengrad Municipality is extending the duration of the project "Preparation and delivery of hot lunches for the most needy individuals in the territory of Svilengrad Municipality" until June 2027, which will ensure daily meals for 450 people in the long term. The decision aims to guarantee access to warm food for individuals in difficult social or material situations.

The initiative, which launched in 2023, operates by distributing lunches at 16 different locations every working day. To strengthen social support for vulnerable groups, an annex has been signed to the contract with the Managing Authority of the "Food and Basic Material Assistance" Program.

The service covers the residents of the town of Svilengrad, as well as the population of the following settlements:

Parallel to these social measures, other ongoing activities are being carried out within the municipal administration. Mayor Arch. Anastas Karchev inaugurated the renovated building of the "Hristo Botev" Primary School in the village of Levka, while simultaneously marking the beginning of the new school year. In the village of Momkovo, the renovation of the central square, implemented with municipal funds, has been completed.

As part of its fleet renewal, the municipal enterprise "Landscaping and Greening" now has a new excavator. Additionally, street lighting has been replaced in the section between Svilengrad and the "Kap. Petko Voyvoda" district.
