Maya Manolova, chair of the Consumer Protection Commission (KZP), holds the first of her regular open days for consumers today, the commission said. It starts at 3pm at the KZP office in Sofia, at 1 Vrabcha Street, 4th floor.
Some people have already signed up. Their questions cover disputed household bills, charges from mobile operators, unfair terms in contracts, unfair trading practices, online purchases and complaints about faulty products.
A second open day in Sofia will be held before the end of the month. The date and times will be announced later.
Manolova will hold an open day in Blagoevgrad on Wednesday 14 October, from 1:30pm, at the KZP regional office at 23 Todor Alexandrov Street. People can sign up from today on 02/ 9330 577 by asking for M. Koleva or E. Palpurina.
People outside the capital can file a complaint at KZP regional offices around Bulgaria. In Sofia, complaints are taken at 1 Vrabcha Street, on the ground floor, from 9am to 5:30pm. The commission's hotline is 0700 111 22.
Two days ago, KZP fined three of the big retail chains a total of €95,000 for unfair trading practices in various stores. The fines followed checks in which inspectors found the prices and trading practices the stores were actually using.
