A Korean-Bulgarian energy forum will take place on Tuesday, 29 September, at the Grand Hotel Sofia. The Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD), the embassy of South Korea in Bulgaria and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency are organising the event.
Politicians, investors and experts from Bulgaria, South Korea and the United States will meet at the round table. Organisers say they will discuss the weak points in Bulgaria's energy sector and where nuclear power could help.
Expected guests include energy minister Iva Petrova and Ilza Chinkova, who chairs the board of the Bulgarian Energy Holding. Nikola Gazdov, head of the Association for Electricity Production, Storage and Trade, will also attend, and Alexander Mihaylov, chief executive of Kozloduy NPP – New Units, will speak for the company.
From the Korean side, guests include Yongsuk Oh, deputy director of Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and Yongsok Kim, who leads the nuclear power plant financing team at the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
CSD will be represented by Martin Vladimirov, director of its energy and climate programme, and Nadezhda Gancheva, senior analyst in the same programme.
