At the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, border police seized 4,200 unstamped cigarettes without excise duty stamps. The case was included in the Haskovo Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry's bulletin for September 23, 2026, which also lists three thefts in the region.
In Dimitrovgrad, two men aged 32 and 33 were detained — they had broken into a general store and made off with 500 euros.
In Harmanli, police caught a 22-year-old man accused of stealing a mobile phone from a woman from his own town. A 30-year-old man was also brought in after breaking into a warehouse and stealing two knives and canned goods.
