The Judges' College of the Supreme Judicial Council has unanimously proposed judge Vanya Ancheva to take over as acting head of the Supreme Administrative Court from October 2, the BTA news agency reports.
The reason is simple. Lyubomir Gaydov, the court's current acting head, is due to stay in the post until October 15, but he has said he won't be able to serve between October 2 and 15. He took charge of the court on a temporary basis on April 14 this year.
Judge Ancheva got the nod because she has the most seniority among her colleagues at the court. If she turns down the post, the Supreme Judicial Council will ask the court's other judges in order of seniority.
