Parliament's transport and communications committee has voted unanimously to ratify the convention on the Bureau of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC). All 15 MPs voted in favour. No one voted against or abstained.
Ratification will bring Bulgaria into closer co-operation with ECAC and commit it to apply international standards in civil aviation. The foreign policy committee also backed the bill yesterday.
Bulgaria signed the convention on August 27, 2025. It gives the Bureau legal status under international law. The Bureau helps carry out the Conference's decisions, works with European and international organisations and manages the Conference's budget.
ECAC is a pan-European intergovernmental organisation founded in 1955. It has 44 member states. It works to align civil aviation policies and practices, and to build a safe, efficient and sustainable European air transport system.
