Rear admiral Vanyo Musinski, deputy commander of the navy's combat fleet, said in response to a question that construction of the navy's second multi-purpose modular patrol vessel is nearing completion.
Under the contract, the first stage of the build is due to be accepted in January next year.
Musinski said work is going very well and the navy may soon have the most modern ships in this part of the world.
The first vessel, the multi-purpose modular patrol ship Hrabri, was recently acquired. The Bulgarian naval flag was raised on it at a military ceremony in early December last year.
