Dozens of people gathered outside the Russian embassy in Sofia for a protest by the group BOETS under the slogan "STOP Russian aggression – Mitrofanova OUT!". The protest was agreed with Sofia municipality.
The organisers handed the embassy a civic note declaring ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova persona non grata.
Protesters blocked traffic on Nikolay Mirchev Street. Georgi Georgiev of BOETS addressed the crowd.
The organisers say that if those in power cannot defend the country from Russian aggression or any other aggressor, citizens must do it. BOETS wants Mitrofanova to leave because, it says, Russia has refused to take responsibility for "these attacks". The group did not say which attacks it means.
Protesters chanted "This is not Moscow".
