The 2027 tax changes are aimed at bringing in more revenue for the budget while also shrinking the gray economy through better collection, Deputy Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova explained at a briefing on the changes to the tax laws.
Petkova said the package also includes relief measures — for families with children as well as for businesses. In addition, fines and penalties are being raised across all tax laws, since most of them haven't been touched since 2006, when these laws were originally adopted.
The annual changes to the tax laws and the Accountancy Act were already published today, she added. The amendments to the Gambling Act are expected to follow later in the day.
