Three environment and climate projects under the Swiss-Bulgarian cooperation programme will be launched at a joint event, the environment ministry said. Environment and water minister Rositsa Karamfilova and Swiss ambassador Pierre Hagmann will host it.
The event starts at 9am at the Grand Hotel Sofia and is also paid for by the programme. It will present the aims of the projects, the planned work and the contribution they are expected to make to the environment and climate in Bulgaria. Guests include representatives of institutions, partner organisations and other interested parties.
The environment ministry runs all three projects. ModAIRn aims to give Bbulgaria cleaner air. The second covers monitoring, control and disposal of obsolete pesticides. ProPark will develop visitor facilities in Rila National Park.
Bulgaria signed the agreement for the project "Visitor infrastructure and sustainable use of a national park (ProPark)" in early February. It is worth 15m Swiss francs.
