The Parliamentary Social Committee yesterday approved amendments to the Labor Code, introducing a new mechanism for determining the minimum wage. The legislative proposals, submitted by the Council of Ministers, were included as an additional item at the beginning of today's session of the National Assembly.

During the discussion, Asen Vasilev, chairman of "We Continue the Change," proposed that the debates be broadcast live through the media, but the majority rejected the proposal. Before the debates began, Vasilev insisted on a quorum check, which registered 141 members of parliament in the hall.

Changes to the minimum wage will directly impact the income and social standards of workers in Burgas and the surrounding region.

Today's agenda also includes the first reading of amendments to the Digital Services Act and the sale of goods, as well as the regular Friday parliamentary oversight session.
