The Financial Supervision Commission is launching a Facebook page this week to help people spot financial risks, the regulator says. The page carries the tag #InvestSafely.

It will post news and practical tips on the capital, insurance and pension markets, along with the risks people should know before making a financial decision. The aim is to help people find their way around the non-bank financial sector and make better-informed choices.

The commission says it wants to reach more people where they already look for information every day, and to explain financial topics clearly and simply.

The commission also runs profiles on LinkedIn and Instagram, and #InvestSafely has its own website.

The "Invest Safely" campaign was announced at the end of March this year. The commission says it aims to raise financial literacy, with a focus on safety rules for putting money into securities or crypto assets.

According to Eurobarometer, 55% of Bulgarians say they often come across disinformation — the highest share in the European Union.
