The bell tower in Yamacha park and the Ivan Dimov Drama Theatre in Haskovo will be lit green on 10 October 2026, Haskovo council said. The lights are meant to support the donation of organs, tissue and cells.
The bell tower, next to the Monument of the Holy Mother of God, and the theatre are joining a Council of Europe campaign for European Donation Day. The council has backed the campaign before, and this year the theatre team is joining it.
The motto of the day in 2026 is "We share life". The council says the day is linked to the hope of people who need life-saving treatment.
With the lights, the council and the theatre want to show care and public support. The day is a chance to thank donors and their families, and to thank medical staff. It is also meant to raise awareness of why donation matters and to encourage people to talk about it.
