Bulgaria's State Fund Agriculture has approved 20,735,344 euros in transitional national aid for livestock farmers under the 2026 campaign, the fund says.

Cattle breeders will get up to 11,476,150 euros under scheme PNDJ1, which pays out regardless of how much the animals produce. Under PNDJ3, farmers who keep ewes and nanny goats can get up to 9,259,194 euros, but here the payment does depend on output.

The fund worked out both budgets from the number of applications filed under the two schemes for 2026. The cap on transitional national aid by sector this year is 35%, set by article 147 of EU regulation 2021/2115, which the European Parliament and the Council passed on 2 December 2021.

For the 2025 campaign, by comparison, the fund approved 45,665,614 levs, or 23,348,816 euros, for the same two schemes. Back then, PNDJ1 covered cattle and/or buffalo.
