Household electricity and heating prices will not rise until 1 July 2027, prime minister Rumen Radev said at the start of the regular cabinet meeting.
Radev said electricity and heating are vital for every Bulgarian citizen. He welcomed the energy regulator's plan, announced yesterday, to keep prices unchanged for the whole of next season.
Gas prices on international exchanges have risen sharply, but this will not affect household bills.
Radev said the government will make sure the Energy System Security Fund has enough cash to back its protective mechanisms.
